![]() ![]() The main draw of this content pack is a new companion character, Sebastian. In short, not really, but let's explore what you'll get for 560 MS points (or $7). For those who didn't, you may be wondering if it's worth your cash. The+Exiled+Prince If you pre-ordered Dragon Age II before January 11, 2011, you were automatically upgraded to the "Signature Edition" and will receive both the Black Emporium and Exiled Prince for free. I mean, unless you want a Mabari really badly. If you don't purchase the game new, I don't see any reason to cough up 800 MSFT points (or $10) for it. Loot is great, but it's still possible to get sufficient equipment from the core game itself, so these items are more of a luxury than a necessity. ![]() While there's good stuff available for purchase, there's also a spot where some weapons and armor are just lying around for the taking. There's also a mirror so you can change the way your character looks in case you accidentally put on green blush or want blue eyes. ![]() Anyway, you don't go there for the boobs or the conversation, the area is essentially a bazaar of weapons, poisons, tomes, potions (including ones that add attribute points and one that lets you re-spec your character) and runes that you can't get anywhere else in the game. There's a golem and a street urchin who watch you while you explore (or ogle a partially naked statue of Andraste) but never speak to you directly. The Black Emporium itself is a trippy place. Instead the dog can be summoned via the Sustained Abilities tab much like the Ranger could call upon animals in Origins. The warhound is battle-ready, but he isn't a full-fledged party member like he was before. As a reward you received one as a gift.) so it made more sense, but oh well. I wish there had been a quest of some sort like they had in Origins (The dogs were poisoned from the Darkspawn taint and you had to save them. What I found random was there's no explanation of how the dog gets there, the game just pretends like it was there all along. I downloaded the content and loaded up a save about two-thirds of the way through the game. The+Black+Emporium If you purchased the game new, you'll automatically receive The Black Emporium, which includes a new area that shares the DLC's name and a Mabari warhound. ![]()
